A woman’s body was found in a London alleyway after locals heard “screaming in the middle of the night.” Police have launched an investigation into her death.
The woman was found “unresponsive” in Grange Road, Tottenham, at 1.08pm on Sunday April 2, and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
She was found in a “long alleyway”, behind houses and warehouses. Her identity is not yet known.
Neighbours had reported “screaming” very late at night, and described the sound as though a man and a woman were “arguing very loudly”.
One local told the Evening Standard: “We heard screaming in the early morning, it sounded like a man and woman arguing very loudly. I thought it was a husband and wife arguing so I tried to ignore them.”
Another added to the outlet they saw the woman’s body being “pulled out on a stretcher” at “about 10pm on Sunday.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “Police were called at 1.08pm to Grange Road, N17 following reports of an unresponsive woman at the location.
“Officers and medics from the London Ambulance Service attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish her identity and next of kin.
“The death is currently being treated at unexpected and is under investigation. No arrests, enquiries continue.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “We were called at 1.10pm yesterday (April 2) to reports of an incident near Grange Road, Tottenham.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
