Two people have been taken to hospital following a suspected chemical leak at a Perth and Kinross primary school.

Staff and pupils at Crieff Primary School were evacuated after an adult working on the premises was taken unwell.

Police Scotland said officers were called to the school in Broich Road at about 11:30 and the building was cleared as a precaution.

A police cordon is currently in place and inquiries into the incident are continuing. Fire crews remain on the scene and are working to make the area safe.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed four ambulances and three special operation response teams were dispatched and two people were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

An SAS spokesperson said: “We dispatched multiple resources to the scene including four ambulances and three special operation response teams.

“Two patients have been transported to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances and one specialist appliance to the scene.

A spokesperson said: “Crews remain on scene and are working to make the area safe.”

A Perth and Kinross Council spokesperson said: “Crieff Primary School has been evacuated as a precaution after an adult working on the premises took unwell.

“Parents have been contacted by the school directly for pick-up as per normal arrangements.

“Scottish Ambulance and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are on site.”
