Ex-President Donald Trump has agreed to debate Vice President Kamala Harris – and called for two more showdowns with her ahead of the 2024 election.

Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago resort on Thursday, Trump said he accepted debate invitations from NBC News, ABC News and Fox News.

‘I think it’s very important to have debates,’ said the Republican nominee.

The ABC News debate set to take place on September 10 had been a hot topic as Trump said he might not participate because the then-presumptive Democratic nominee switched from President Joe Biden to his second-in-charge, Harris.

Harris on Thursday wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘I hear that Donald Trump has finally committed to debating me on September 10. I look forward to it.’

Her campaign did not respond to Trump’s two other debate proposals.

The Trump campaign said the debates will be hosted by Fox News on September 4, ABC News on September 10 and NBC News on September 25.

‘So we have those three dates and those networks, they’re very anxiously awaiting that date and those dates,’ Trump said.

‘We have spoken to the heads of the network and it’s all been confirmed.’
