The Traitors US: Arie Luyendyk Jr and Cirie Fields had pact to split prize
The Traitors US reunion is finally here and Arie Luyendyk Jr dropped a huge bombshell about the finale, revealing that he actually had a pact with Cirie Fields to split the jackpot.
Viewers will know that the Survivor star was among the original Traitors picked by host Alan Cummings, beside Christian De La Torre and Cody Calafiore.
After some scheming, roundtables galore and awkward murders, Arie was approached to join the Traitors very late in the game and almost sailed through to the bitter end.
The Bachelor icon – along with Faithfuls Andie Vanacore and Quentin Jiles – chose to end the competition in the final vote before Cirie threw a curveball which saw her fellow Traitor unmasked at the last moment, meaning she managed to secure the $250,000 jackpot for herself.
In a tense reunion, presenter Andy Cohen delved into the drama, and questioned the pair on what we didn’t quite see.
He asked: ‘You two had made this pact, so what had you said to each other?’
‘We were going to end the game. The plan was to end the game and split the money,’ the finalist replied.
‘So when I threw into the fire, and Andie then threw into the fire and Quentin, I was like, “Game over!”
‘And then she threw into the fire and wanted to continue to game. At that point, she talked about splitting the money four ways. Because, at that point, everyone thought they were faithful there.
‘She didn’t really say, “Arie, I think you’re a traitor”. She made it more on, “Who needs the money the most?” talked about our personal lives, and I wasn’t about to play that game.’
When Andy asked what her intention was behind saying that, Cirie explained: ‘Really to get rid of Arie. When I think about it, I could’ve just said no and threw my red thing in, and they still would’ve got rid of Arie.’
The winner claimed that she decided to change things up at the last minute, as Arie’s journey in the competition wasn’t as hard as her own.
‘When I’m thinking about splitting the money with Arie, I’m like, this has been a lot,’ she continued. ‘Because it was hard, it wasn’t easy. It was not easy being a Traitor from day one and having to go into these breakfasts everyday, and having to go into these roundtables.
‘Arie came in one murder out. Thinking about it, I’m like, I went through a lot, it was really hard for me and I didn’t think it was as fair to just give him half of the money.’
Arie branded her comments ‘unfair’ as they ‘played two different games’ in the Castle.
However, Quentin revealed that Cirie actually had another pact with he and Andie, meaning that she had secured her prize no matter what.
‘At that time, the day before, the pact was set,’ he added. ‘So when she threw red, we automatically knew we were voting Arie out.
‘If Arie didn’t quit, we were always going to vote Arie out. So Cirie had already won.’
With all that gameplay going on behind the scenes, it’s only right that Cirie managed to take the crown…
The Traitors US reunion is available to stream on Peacock now.
