Prince Andrew has emerged the “clear winner” over his brother’s home after King Charles “ran the costs” of booting him out of his Royal Lodge home, an expert has claimed.

The Duke of York had been facing effective eviction from the property, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, where he lives with ex-wife the Duchess of York, in favour of a move to nearby Frogmore Cottage.

However, writing for the Sheknows website, journalist Kristyn Burtt said: “It seems that the residential standoff between him and his older brother has a clear winner.”

The Monarch had “run the numbers” and realised Andrew’s 75-year lease would be more costly if it was terminated, Ms Burtt suggested.
