Neighbours airs mammoth twist as character returns from the dead | Soaps

Neighbours spoilers follow for Tuesdays (November 21) episode that is now available to stream on Amazon Freevee.

Soap law decrees that if viewers don’t see a body then there’s every possibility that the character in question isn’t actually dead.

Neighbours’ latest twist is further proof of such a thing.

The long-running soap stunned audiences with its special flashback offerings last week when Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) explained the real reasons why she left Ramsay Street.

The popular character believed that she’d killed Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis), who had been trying to extort money from her, in a moment of rage.

Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) assisted her in covering up the crime, paying of Krista’s beau Eden Shaw (Costa D’Angelo), who agreed to keep shtum in exchange for a lot of cash.

Little did he know, however, that Krista was none other than Reece’s (Mischa Barton) sister!

The truth exploded in truly spectacular fashion, with Reece heartbroken to realise that her sister, who she has been searching for for weeks, is dead. Melanie, meanwhile, found herself on remand while Paul became public enemy number one.

Eden, meanwhile, was in the wind, with Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong Hall) determined to track him down and make him pay for all the chaos he’s been responsible for.

After a brainwave, Holly joined Haz Devkar (Shiv Palekar) in staking out potential places where Eden would’ve hidden, with their final option proving to be the schemer’s hideout.

Eden made a run for it, with Holly and Haz successfully trapping him in his van, allowing Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) and his fellow boys in blue to apprehend him.

But as Eden was carted away by the authorities, Holly realised that he had a cardigan belonging to Krista in his possession. Daring to think of the possibility that Krista might still be alive, Holly went searching in doors and, to her shock, she found the woman in question alive, though clearly in need of medical intervention.

Yes, you read that correctly. Krista is alive!

The preview for the subsequent episode sees Melanie elated, knowing that she didn’t kill anyone, while Reece is overwhelmed and wants to speak to her sister. But will she finally come face-to-face with her beloved sibling after all this time?
