Jurgen Klopp expects to have Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Ibrahima Konate all available for selection on Saturday when Liverpool host Leeds United.

Henderson was taken off during the Champions League win at Ajax during the week, while Thiago missed the game due to an ear infection and Konate has been suffering with a muscle problem.

However, it is good news for all three and they could all be involved against Leeds at Anfield as the Reds look to bounce back in the league after defeat to Nottingham Forest in their last outing.

There will be no Naby Keita of Joel Matip in the squad, though, nor will there be long-term absentees Diogo Jota or Luis Diaz.

‘I expect Jordan Henderson to be okay,’ said Klopp. ‘Thiago will return too. It’s still soon for Naby Keita and Matip is still out. You don’t have to ask about Diogo or Luis for a while.’

On Konate he added: ‘He’s available now.’

Keita and Matip are both expected to be back before the World Cup break, but that will not be the case for Jota or Diaz.

Loan signing Arthur Melo is still yet to make his Premier League debut for Liverpool as he deals with a thigh problem and he will not be doing so against Leeds.

There has even been talk of the loan deal with Juventus being cut short due to the severity of the problem, but Klopp has dismissed that possibility.

‘A serious injury,’ said Klopp of the Brazilian. ‘He’s here. It’s a long-term injury and when he’s back, we’ll think about it again. But at the moment, it’s too far away. No [we won’t cut the loan in January].’
