He was having a quiet day out fishing near his home in Atlanta, Georgia – but Anthony Gibson Jnr says he was confronted three times about what he was up to and why he was there.
He says fishing while black became a problem and the police were called. He then decided to post what was happening on social media, to lay bare the racial division that bubbled to the surface, even with something as innocuous as fishing.
We spoke to him earlier this week.
