The UK summer holidays are in full swing, but it has not been smooth sailing on the Elizabeth line today after it was suspended.

The busy London Underground line is partially suspended, meaning trains are not running to Heathrow Airport.

There is no service between Hayes and Harlington and Heathrow Terminals due to a signal failure, the latest TfL status update shows.

Meanwhile, some holiday flights have been axed at Heathrow and Gatwick airports today.

Disruption on Elizabeth line

If you are heading to Heathrow Airport on the Elizabeth line this morning, make sure to plan for some delays to the journey.

A faulty signalling system closed the line between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4, and between Shenfield and Terminal 5.

Heathrow Express services between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5 are also affected.

Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised, National Rail said.

While the lines have now reopened, the impact of the disruption is expected to last until 10am.
