Former Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has given birth!
The Bethany Platt actress announced to fans on Sunday that she is now the proud mum to a baby boy.
Lucy – who shared her pregnancy with the world back in September, which was some welcome joy after she previously suffered a miscarriage.
Now, the actress and footballer partner Ryan Ledson are a family of three, as she posted the most adorable snap with their newborn.
‘Our beautiful boy,’ Lucy captioned the sweet post, along with the date January 30.
The black and white picture shows the new parents cradling their son as they sit on the sofa, with Lucy positively glowing.
Of course, the couple received a wealth of love and congratulatory messages from fans and famous friends.
Samia Longchambon commented: ‘Congratulations both of you.. gorgeous news Lucy! ♥️🙏’
Helen Flanagan wrote: ‘So happy for you my beautiful friend xxxx’
Co-star Mollie Gallagher penned: ‘Awww congratulations ❤️❤️❤️’, while Jane Danson commented: ‘How amazing- huge congratulations Lucy xx❤️’
When announcing that she had a bun in the oven last year, Lucy, who was 19 weeks pregnant at the time, said: ‘We’ve been keeping it a secret. I’m scared but excited.’
Preston North End player Ryan added to OK!: ‘I’ve always wanted to be a young dad so I can be active with them.’
However, at the same time, Lucy has also bravely revealed that she had a miscarriage in March, finding out the devastating news when the couple went for an early seven-week scan.
Describing it as a ‘traumatising, horrendous time,’ Lucy added: ‘I had pregnancy symptoms and I was feeling really unwell and when they were doing all these scans my symptoms were getting worse and worse and there were no signs I had had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock.’
The actress then had to have surgery to remove the pregnancy tissue.
She said that Ryan had been incredibly supportive through the heartbreaking time, with the footie star saying that, understandably, it had been a very difficult time for him too.
He went on to say that he didn’t realise how common the experience was until he spoke to others who have been through the same thing.
The couple added that they were surprised to fall pregnant so soon after the miscarriage and that it was clearly ‘meant to happen’.
