A major motorway will be closed for ‘several hours’ following a serious crash.

The M4 is currently closed in both directions near to the Cranford Park Interchange following a collision, which happened between junctions 2 and 4.

The Hounslow division of the Metropolitan Police are in attendance alongside the London Fire Brigade, who say one vehicle involved in the crash has been completely destroyed by fire.

The crash happened on the eastbound carriageway, and though currently both sides of the road are closed it’s expected the M4 will be closed eastbound for ‘several hours’.

Drivers are being asked to find an alternative route and to avoid the area where possible.

It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the crash, or if any injuries were reported.

Officers say they are in the process of turning around vehicles trapped in the road closure, and are appealing for anyone who saw the crash to get in touch.
