Bob Saget’s widow Kelly Rizzo has been reflecting on her last Christmas with her late husband while trying to get through this holiday season without him.
The Full House actor died on January 9, at the age of 65, after suffering a head injury in Orlando, Florida.
His full autopsy has been permanently sealed at the request of his family, with the results described as ‘graphic’.
Kelly, 43, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her Sagent with a series a photographs of them from the Christmas period, urging her followers to ‘cherish every single moment’
‘I certainly didn’t think that our first Christmas together (in the same city) last year would be our last,’ she penned.
‘(it was the first year he came to Chicago to spend Christmas with my family along with my wonderful step-daughter, Lara) I’m so glad we had that special time together.
‘He got to spend time with my niece Alex, who was only 2, and got to meet my niece Brooklyn who was only 2 weeks old. Alex still remembers “Uncle Bob” and talks about him every single day.’ (sic)
Kelly continued: ‘He certainly left a lasting impression that I’m so grateful for. But Bob did that with everyone he met.
‘The holidays are a time for hope, love, and togetherness. I pray that if you’re missing a loved one this holiday season, that you’re blessed with many deep and loving memories and gratitude that will help carry you through.
‘As I’ve said before, I’m just so grateful that I got to have that incredible man in my life and that I got to be in his for 6 years. There’s no greater Christmas present than that. Sending love and prayers and wishes to you all.’
Wrapping up her post, she concluded: ‘And I cannot thank you all enough for almost a full year of all the love and support and kindness from everyone. It means more than you know. I can only hope to show you how thankful I am and give it back a bit over time. ❤️🩹❤️🎄❤️🩹❤️🎄’
Kelly’s followers immediately flooded her post with love and support, with Amanda Kloots responding: ‘Love to you Kelly! ❤️❤️’
News anchor Jennifer Lahmers said: ‘No one knows what life has in store but you two lived it to the fullest. thinking of you this Christmas my love❤️❤️’
Saget was found dead just hours after he had performed the latest show on his stand-up tour.
After Saget’s death, Kelly expressed her grief in a statement.
‘My whole heart,’ she told People. ‘Bob was my absolute everything. I am so completely shattered and in disbelief.
‘I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers.’
