JKS Restaurants to open The Hound in Chiswick

It’ll be the group and Dominic Jacobs’ third pub together

Not content with opening a new Indian restaurant in Mayfair this summer, the JKS Restaurants team is also adding to its pub collection, which includes The George in Fitzrovia and The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea. The Hound is taking up residence inside an old Victorian police station in Chiswick and will comprise a pub, reception room, two private dining rooms, a covered outdoor courtyard, a south-facing front terrace, and two wine cellars inside former cells still featuring the original bars and prison doors.

As with the other pubs, Culinary Director James Knappett of the two Michelin star Kitchen Table will be working on the menu, alongside Executive Chef John Sparks. As well as roasts on Sundays, you can expect dishes like:

  • black pudding scotch egg with Oxford sauce
  • ham, egg and chips with spiced pineapple ketchup
  • grilled red prawns with chilli & garlic gremolata and focaccia
  • salt cod croquettes with lemon aioli
  • Highland wagyu Hound Dog with Ogleshield cheese, sauerkraut and charcuterie sauce
  • chicken & leek pie with mash and buttered greens
  • pea & Ticklemore risotto with mint oil and toasted cashews
  • raspberry, mint & lemon Eton Mess
  • sticky toffee pudding

The drinks options at The Hound are just as extensive as the food offering. In addition to craft beer, including a bespoke Morhoch Cornish Pilsner from the Harbour Brewing Co, local cask ales and Guinness, there’ll be a concise wine list, plus its own label tap wines made with Uncharted Wines, and cocktails made with fresh ingredients sourced from the Chiswick Fruit & Vegetable Market.

Though The Hound isn’t opening in time to catch the last of the Wimbledon and Euro 2024 action, it will be showing live sport throughout the pub and courtyard. And come August, four boutique guest rooms will be opening upstairs so you can plan a sleepover too.
